About Montenegro Spirit

Montenegro Spirit is an independent travel guide dedicated to Montenegro. Our mission is to help travellers plan honest, well-paced trips across the whole country — from the medieval streets of Kotor and the painted islet of Our Lady of the Rocks, to the alpine ridges of Durmitor, the migratory bird colonies of Skadar Lake, and the sandy southern beaches of Velika Plaža.

Our approach

Every destination guide, itinerary, comparison and recommendation on this site is researched against verified sources and real on-the-ground experience. We cover places honestly: real EUR prices, real travel times (Kotor → Žabljak is four hours via Nikšić, not two), seasonal caveats (most of the coast shuts down November to April), and the tourist traps to watch out for. If a beach is private or a "rafting" operator is unlicensed, we say so.

What we cover

The Bay of Kotor (Kotor, Perast, Herceg Novi, Tivat), the Budva Riviera (Budva, Sveti Stefan, Bečići, Petrovac), the south coast (Bar, Ulcinj, Ada Bojana), the mountain national parks (Durmitor, Biogradska Gora, Lovćen), the inland lakes and heartland (Skadar Lake, Cetinje, Lipa Cave, Ostrog Monastery) and the capital Podgorica. Eight languages, around 280 canonical pages.

How we earn revenue

Montenegro Spirit is a free resource. We earn a commission when you book tours and activities through our affiliate links with GetYourGuide and Viator (a Tripadvisor company). This costs you nothing extra — you pay the same price as you would booking directly — and the commission helps keep these guides free, fact-checked and up to date. Read our full affiliate disclosure for the details.
